– Vascularized Composite Allografts
On March 3, 2008, the Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS), published a Federal
Register Notice, Vol 73, No 42, for the purpose of soliciting
feedback from stakeholders and the public on whether vascularized
composite allografts should be included within the definition
of organs covered by the Organ Procurement and Transplantation
Network (OPTN) final rule (42 CFR, Part 121) and added to
the definition of human organs covered by section 301 of the
National Organ Transplant Act of 1984 (NOTA).
The deadline for the public to provide written comments to
HRSA has been extended to July 2, 2008. The
amended Federal Register Notice, April 7, 2008 (Volume 73,
Number 67) is available at the U.S.
Government Printing Office website.
